About the author

I am a production editor both in-print and online at a local weekly newspaper who believes passionately that communities are being disenfranchised and neglected by mainstream media.

 I am also chairman of a community project aiming to set up a local media hub in my home city which will see local people and groups being trained up as community reporters,  setting up their own hyperlocal websites and producing their own publicity through a variety of media both in-print and online. We’ll also have a news website and community newspaper, as well as various wikis etc. 

It’s all about people and communities having a voice!
